Bruce McMahan


With 30 years of industry knowledge and experience at companies such as Gensler, Clark Construction Group and The Staubach Company, Bruce brings a multifaceted perspective and maintains an unwavering focus on the interests of each client, anticipating needs and problems throughout every project so clients are not faced with the unexpected.


He’s been the architect and understands the requirements of each phase of the design process. He’s been the contractor and realizes the time and budget pressures they experience.  He’s been the owner’s representative and knows how unnerving surprises can be.  This broad perspective enables him to anticipate needs and problems throughout the entire process, so clients are not faced with the unexpected.


Since joining the firm in 1997, Bruce has played a significant role in expanding the CMA Purchasing product and service offering while building the infrastructure necessary to support the company’s growth. Today he is responsible for the strategic growth of the company as well as for monitoring tactical operations.


Bruce earned a Bachelor of Environment Design from Texas A&M University and holds an MBA from The American University.


Paul Snyder

Senior Vice President

Over more than 22 years with CMA Purchasing, Paul has gained unsurpassed experience in government sales, business development and contract administration.  Managing dozens of different government contracts over the years, he has forged strong working relationships with decision makers at the highest levels, within government agencies and private industry.


Paul’s sales experience began at Xerox Corporation, which led to 8 years of sales in the floor covering industry.  After joining CMA Purchasing, he focused on sales of FF&E to federal government agencies and honed his project management skills on large Packaged Furniture Contract projects located in the US, Europe and Asia.


Paul’s keen understanding of the government procurement process, combined with his experience in an ever-changing government contracting environment, provides significant advantages to the CMA Purchasing government program as well as to those of our business partners.


Paul holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Towson University.


Doug Cowan

Vice President of Sales

Building on his years of sales management and industry contacts, Doug manages CMA Purchasing’s business development in the Hospitality and Senior Living markets. His background in FF&E design, engineering and production enables him to provide invaluable advice to CMA Purchasing clients regarding budgeting, value engineering and sources of supply.


Doug’s manufacturing experience began at Ladd Furniture’s Design Horizons casegoods production facility.  Over the years he transitioned from production to sales management with several other hospitality casegoods manufacturers.


Doug comes to CMA Purchasing from ie Furniture, a manufacturer of custom and running line casegoods, where he was Vice President of Sales.  While there he managed projects for branded programs as well as large, upscale hospitality properties that required very high levels of design sophistication and production quality.


Doug earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from East Tennessee State University.


Lisa McMahan, IIDA

Director of Design

A certified interior designer, Lisa spent the first 17 years of her career at Gensler, providing design and project management services for a variety of clients in the US, Europe and Asia.  The depth and breadth of her experience, along with her collaborative management style, make her a valuable asset to any project team.


As CMA Director of Design, Lisa oversees all aspects of the design process. With her hands-on approach she is involved in each project from the initial development of design intent through implementation, working closely with her clients to craft design solutions that reflect the project’s goals.


With over 30 years in the industry, Lisa’s primary focus has been in hospitality, commercial, government and multi-family design. Her broad range of experience provides Lisa with a unique understanding of design, management and customer service to ensure the success of her projects.


Lisa received her Bachelors of Fine Art from The University of Georgia and she has been a member of IBD and IIDA since 1985.

Katie Sheridan

Director of Hospitality Purchasing

With over 29 years coordinating high-profile projects at Marriott International, Katie brings a wealth of senior-level management experience in providing full service FF&E procurement for custom new build, renovation and conversion projects. Her experience includes coordinating all contract execution and procurement and expediting processes to ensure on-time delivery and installation for hotel openings.


As Director of Hospitality Purchasing, Katie brings CMA Purchasing clients an uncommon level of capability and assurance to all phases of the hospitality purchasing process for projects that range from fully custom to those needing to meet flag-required standards and specifications.

She manages all aspects of hospitality project procurement, strategic planning, contract negotiations, vendor relationships, inventory planning & management, quality assurance, bid analysis, supplier sourcing, client relationships, value engineering, automated management systems, cost avoidance, logistics & transportation and scheduling.


Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics,

a large language ocean.
